Leading UK anti slavery charity Unseen publishes 2025 Impact Report

Modern slavery continues to affect over 130,000 people across the UK. Yet every day, survivors, communities, businesses, and frontline professionals are proving that change is possible. In 2025, Unseen strengthened support for survivors, responded to a record number of reports of exploitation, influenced national policy discussions, and worked with organisations across multiple sectors to drive meaningful action against modern slavery. They continued to challenge exploitation wherever it occurs and build a future where everyone can live in freedom and safety.

The Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline continued to be a vital lifeline for people seeking information, advice and support. In 2025, the Helpline responded to 11,231 calls, webform submissions, and app reports. Advisers indicated more than 6,600 potential victims of modern slavery and identified almost 3,000 cases of exploitation – a 41% increase on the previous year. The team also made more than 1,800 referrals to agencies including police forces, local authorities, and specialist organisations.

These figures highlight both growing awareness of modern slavery and the continuing scale of exploitation taking place across the UK. Every contact represents an opportunity for intervention, safeguarding, and support.
