Modern Slavery Statement
SOS operates in the UK to identify and eradicate modern slavery, particularly in sectors where the presence of modern slavery is most likely to be prevalent. Examples include cleaning, construction, security, care industry and facilities management generally although this list is far from exhaustive. Our aim is to support companies, organisations and individuals in identifying and eliminating modern slavery and make donations to UK charities that share our aim of eradicating modern slavery and exploitation in labour supply chains.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights, which takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Stamp Out Slavery (SOS) has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed not only to ensuring that our clients have a robust approach to its identification and elimination but also to ensuring that we too act ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
SOS uses a number of suppliers which provide professional services such as legal advice, consultancy services and accounting services. We also use suppliers who provide hardware and software, including computer equipment, software licences, verification services and cloud-based data storage services. The majority of our suppliers are located in the UK and North America.
As a service provider using internet-based review procedures and directly retained personnel, our human rights and modern slavery risk profile is relatively low. Nevertheless, all suppliers are subject to rigorous vetting and due diligence, which varies depending on their risk categorisation.
This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, contractors, external consultants, third-party representatives and suppliers. SOS will review this policy annually.
